Craft of Communication’s theatre-based techniques have proved to be popular and highly effective in helping Managers and Executives to develop their Communication Skills. Set up in 2002 by John Abulafia, the international theatre and opera director, we now have over 130 clients in 53 sectors. The disciplines of Performance, and a deep understanding of the psychology of Audiences, Leaders and Teams, provide the bedrock of our training - whether we are working with groups or one-to-one.


The starting point for our unique communications training is -

The moment you start to communicate your message to others.
- whether to an audience of 500 plus, a small group, one-to-one, on the phone, or via video link - you have initiated a Performer - Audience relationship.

What you learn:

Within twenty minutes, you can learn how to use the dynamics of this Performer - Audience relationship to enhance your communication. Our training shows how small changes to posture, breathing and voice can completely transform the way audiences, clients or colleagues perceive you.

How you learn:

Craft of Communication courses are full of action: specially devised games and role-play are balanced with analysis, observation, self assessment, feedback. Each course is summarised in a practical, punchy, useful manual containing advice on how to apply the training long after the course is over.

Year on year, the company has expanded both its client list and the range of training we can offer. John has brought in several highly skilled associates whose skills complement his own.
