OUR NEW ASSOCIATE:    Kate O’Connell.

Kate trained at LAMDA from 1982-5 and won the comedy prize. She worked in theatre, film and television for ten years. Her career has taken in both plays at the Royal Court Theatre and a live cinema commercial for British Airways performed in UCI cinema complexes up and down the country.

Always fascinated by the complexities of human nature, Kate decided to embark on a second career and trained as psychoanalytic psychotherapist. She has worked with several clients for eight years. She is currently the Senior Consultant at Drawing Down The Moon. This is an introduction agency for thinking people. Her work involved interviewing, assessing suitability, matching potential partners and coaching clients through any dating difficulties that may arise. Kate is passionate about the ways that people communicate and works with clients using both her drama and psychotherapeutic background. In addition, she is currently writing a play for the theatre.

Craft of Communication asked Kate to combine her theatrical and therapeutic experience in helping an important NHS client.
