Craft of Communication: : Executive Coaching

Craft of Communication Coaching helps Executives to develop a personal style that matches both their seniority and their aspirations.

Executive Coaching: what you learn:

In these personal development sessions clients are helped to enhance their energy levels, fine tune their interpersonal skills, often releasing underappreciated qualities like charm and wit. Above all, they learn how, over time, they can develop gravitas.

The first skill set centres on concept of Status. Once the basic skill has been mastered, these sessions help executives to develop the sophisticated skill of modulating their Status to suit the circumstances. In this way, they learn how to influence others around them: colleagues, boards, clients as well as audiences.

The second skill set is a blend of the physical, psychological and vocal. Executives are shown how they can influence others by making subtle changes to posture, using eye contract, altering their breathing, choosing an appropriate pace when speaking, and making full use of pitch changes in the voice.

Understanding and mastering their own use of Space Time and Energy also helps executives to learn the skill of reading the Body Language of others.

There is a third skill set in which, if a client wishes, the session can be used to examine work relationships and any problems they encounter in this area. A combination of discussion and role play can be used to find more fruitful and positive solutions to this range of problems.

Specialist Communication skills:
Where there is a specific area of need, such as Media Skills, dealing with press, being interviewed on camera - special sessions can be arranged using additional relevant experts.

Executive Coaching: how you learn:

Each client has different needs. This is why Craft of Communication Executive Coaching sessions are client-led. All the work is done by focussing on the areas the client considers important in their working lives:

  • Running or chairing meetings
  • Facilitating discussions
  • Networking
  • Presenting to board, to colleagues, to conferences etc
  • Face to face client meetings
  • Conference Preparation
  • Negotiating on the phone

No issue, however difficult or knotty is excluded. For example, John Abulafia’s experience in Diversity Training has proved helpful to women executives and those from ethnic minorities. Craft of Communication is fully in tune with 21st Century society where difference is a positive asset.

CLIENT FEEDBACK 1
I selected your training because I felt it would answer some wider questions about my personal effectiveness and this it did very well. I now feel very aware of my impact on others and the reasons for it and am actively working day by day to make necessary changes: principally my posture, taking time to breathe, talking at the pace I choose etc…I have mooted the idea of a 1-day follow-up in 3 months' time or so.
ANDREW PARKINS, Old Mutual PLC.
